How they work

To function the smoke bomb simply pull the ring to the side. What follows is one full minute of brilliantly colored, non-toxic smoke. The smoke is delivered from a single vent at the top of the smoke bomb.

What they're for

Fun product. If you are using with models, I would suggest you have another person who can pull the tab on the canister. You get about 30 seconds to photograph the smoke so you need to be ready and work fast. With a little more practice, these are going to be super fun!

Let me just start by saying, these are definitely really cool! We used them for my daughter's senior pictures. Which turned out amazing, btw. I will say, just because a lot of the pictures I see on here, people are holding them without gloves of some sort on, please be cautious and heed the warnings. I ended up with an area of second degree burn on my hand when the sparks flew out the side of the top instead of directly out of the top. It is super painful.

The EG25 bombs give you about 30-60s of smoke. This is ideal for a photoshoot since it gives the smoke a chance to clear and lets you breathe; you can easily go again. I typically use about 3 to 6 bombs on a shoot, one or two at a time. The smoke is thick enough to give a good effect provided there's not much of a breeze, and the colour is nice and vivid. Igniting them takes a good, hard pull (a couple of my models couldn't or wouldn't do it) but you don't need a lighter and there doesn't appear to be any fire risk (though they do get quite warm)

I’m in love with these photos because of the smoke bombs. I’m literally thinking of any reason to use smoke in a photoshoot now. I was pleasantly surprised how long and how much smoke comes out, even on the single vent. MUCH more smoke than I expected. The photo I attached is from only one smoke bomb. We were able to take A LOT of pictures and even do multiple positions of where the smoke was coming from. Extremely pleased with the product. Bought 12, wish I had bought more and will be buying more. Already booked another shoot off the photos I took on the first one.
